Carvalho Park & The Grill

I hope you’re enjoying summer in NYC as much as I am. Bike rides, rooftop drinks, ferries at sunset, saying yes to every invite, it doesn’t get better than this! My first rec this week is a show I saw recently at a gallery I love and the second was your request for an “uber fancy birthday dinner” spot. Don’t forget, you can submit your NYC requests on Friday in our stories on Instagram.

I’m a big fan of this gallery in East Williamsburg. Gallery cofounder, Jennifer Carvalho, has an amazing eye for emerging talent and is always eager to discuss the work. While the gallery is currently showing two exhibitions, I’m particularly in love with EUTIERRIA, curated by Kate Mothes. This collection is the work of seven artists and you wouldn’t believe how well the pieces and stories weave together. To best describe the show I’ll let the curator do the talking with a quote pulled from their press release, “self and nature become indistinguishable.”

You wanted uber fancy and you’re getting it! The Grill is old-school NYC brought back to life and done right. This is the spot for a special occasion, for a night on the town, for splurging. My husband and I went for his birthday a few years ago and had the best time. Housed in the famed Seagram Building in Midtown, the second you walk in you feel the history of the city, and the luxury. Get dressed up, start with some oysters, sip cocktails, watch table-side preparations, take multiple bathroom selfies, order that bottle of Champagne… it’s Saturday night in New York City baby.

Don’t forget you can have a custom New York City itinerary just like this, made specifically for you with our Curated Days!
