Mount Everest Deli & Sundown
Got a lot of requests last week for Ridgewood! As a Ridgewood resident, I love to see it. So I’m bringing you two of my fav places in the neighborhood. People are always asking me about Ridgewood and saying they want to check it out, now is your time! Don’t forget, you can submit your NYC requests on Friday in our stories on Instagram.
Right at the top I’m coming in hot with one of my favorite places in Ridgewood (and the city), Mount Everest Deli. This unassuming deli on Myrtle Ave. serves some of the best momos I’ve ever had. The sauces! So spicy, so tantalizing. My favorite thing to do is grab the veggie momos for me and a paratha egg and cheese wrap for my husband to go and sit on a bench across the street. It’s a perfect way to start a Ridgewood afternoon.
Recently someone asked me what my favorite bar in Ridgewood is, the pressure! And while I love sitting at the bar at many restaurants in the neighborhood, my favorite actual bar is Sundown. They’ve got inexpensive wines by the glass, negronis on tap, and a killer happy hour every day, but I think my favorite thing is the windows that open right onto Forest Ave. Dare I say it adds a European feel? The spot is just so tiny and cozy, it’s my favorite.
