Portrait Bar & Palmetto
As you may know, every week we bring you one rec requested by you on Instagram and one rec of my choice. This week, you requested “cocktail bars” and my rec was going to be a cocktail bar so it seemed like the perfect excuse to bring you two for two! Recently my husband and I were looking to celebrate something and I had seen pics and been intrigued by Portrait Bar, so we figured we’d give it a shot. And it did not disappoint. The drinks, the swanky room, the service! The service was impeccable. They quoted a short wait but really for a Friday around 7pm, I can’t believe they got us in. We got to sit in the upstairs area decorated in rich jewel tones and sexy couches. The prices will set you back a bit but if you‘re looking for a special night on the town, look no further.
For those other times you want a great cocktail but a little more casual, why not check out Palmetto? Across the East River in Bushwick, this bar delivers a chill atmosphere and stellar cocktails. It’s got a bit of a summer on the Mediterranean vibe, but in the coolest vintage way possible. They have giant booths perfect for celebrating with friends and a happy hour Monday-Friday. I highly recommend the Jackson Heights (tequila, coconut, cardamom) that I recently enjoyed at the bar!
