Achilles Heel & Fanelli’s
This week the theme was clear from all of your requests: cozy and warm! Many of you asked for ways to stay warm, cozy bars, etc. So I’m bringing you two I’ve personally enjoyed in the last couple of weeks. And don’t forget, now that our themed months are over, you can submit your NYC requests on Friday in our stories on Instagram!
The very first spot that came to mind when I got the request for “anything to stay warm” was Achilles Heel in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Not only is this bar cozy AF but what makes it just perfect is their real, wood-burning fireplace right when you walk in. So much so that after I suggested it on Instagram I had to get myself there this past Sunday. Was perfect, as expected. 🥰
While Fanelli’s is certainly very well known and can sometimes even be overcrowded- it has been downright easy to get into as of late. Something about an old, dark bar hits right during winter and for that reason, Fanelli’s has been on my mind. And the last two times I’ve shown up, there’s been seats at the bar ready for us! Don’t let the crowds of SoHo scare you off, there might be a seat and a warm drink ready to welcome you in.
