Budget Month: Week 4

How have we already reached the end of budget month?! I think I’ve done a pretty good job incorporating budget-friendly options in this notoriously expensive city. For our last and final installment, we’ve got one of my new favorite happy hours and, mass transit. And don’t forget to submit your NYC requests on Friday in our stories on Instagram!

I’m so in love with the new happy hour at Decades in Ridgewood! Monday- Friday, 5-7, and the must-try order is the arancini and martini (how cute) for $18. But another big sell is that they now offer square slices at the happy hour for $4! Decades usually only serves whole pies so this is your chance to grab a seat at the bar, a martini, and a delicious slice that won’t break the bank.

Riding the bus

I’ll just say it, I love riding the bus. I know several friends, who have lived here for years, who have never taken the bus! Now is your chance. Ok, you can not have any sort of immediacy with the bus, you’re on their time. But if you can just enjoy that, and accept it, you will enjoy yourself! You can see the whole city outside the window, your phone works the entire time, and you get to interact with your fellow New Yorkers. Get out there and just jump on a bus, it’ll only cost you $2.90.

Don’t forget you can have a custom New York City itinerary just like this, made specifically for you with our Curated Days!
