Museum of the City of New York & Aedes Perfumery
While it doesn’t necessarily feel like it currently, spring is on the way in New York City! And I for one, can not wait. I see bike rides, al fresco dining, and beers in the park with friends all in my future. Just a few short weeks until all New Yorkers are happy again and out of their apartments! This week for Rachel’s Recs we’ve got an exhibit I loved and an Instagram request for a place to buy fancy candles. Don’t forget we’re still taking your NYC questions every Friday on our stories on Instagram!
The new exhibit, New York Now: Home, is a must-see for any New Yorker or anyone who loves New York. This show gives the viewer a lens into how we live in this city. Whether that be our physical dwellings or the community that surrounds us and makes a place feel like home. And don’t forget, the museum is pay what you wish, so this exhibit is available to all New Yorkers!
This week’s listener’s request asked “where to buy fancy candles?”. Aedes Perfumery is a stunner! I stumbled on this shop after searching for a room spray I saw in Paris. Spoiler alert: it’s the only place in the US that carries it. This shop is romantic, full of giant fresh flower arrangements, so special, and offers some fancy candles and perfume. The price point isn’t for everyone but if you’re having a bad day, I highly recommend stopping by and just taking it all in.
